Named a Primary Stroke Center in 2005, the stroke program is a leader in stroke prevention and treatment. This comprehensive program is second to none. Led by an exceptional team of physicians, nurses, and clinicians, the stroke program uses advanced technology combined with years of clinical expertise to ensure our patients receive the best care possible.

Treatments we offer

The interdisciplinary team of the stroke program helps address all the needs of our patients and their families in a caring, thorough manner. We provide:

• TPa protocol, administers drug therapy within 90 minutes of a stroke, helping return the patient faster to a normal life;
• Rehabilitation services;
• Peer visitors;
• Stroke Tai Chi classes; and,
• Carotid artery surgery.

Stroke symptoms

Strokes are preventable, and knowing the warning signs can reduce their severity:

• Sudden one-sided weakness, numbness or paralysis;
• Blurred or decreased vision in one or both eyes;
• Difficulty speaking or understanding others;
• Dizziness or loss of balance; and/or,
• Severe or unexplained headache.
